Before that I was (strangely) able to open only one of them (the game event didn't 'see' another 8) I have Windows 10, but have earlier played the game in Windows 7 - the saves come from that period. The only thing that changed anything was to open the game in Windows 7 or 8 mode, which allowed me to open all the old saves, but saving is still impossible. You can check if you have full access to Documents and your save files (read only etc) by right clicking the save folder and going to properties and seeing if it says "read only".
